Would you like to volunteer at Small World? If so we need American women with teaching experience who are interested in teaching women from other countries and cultures. Also needed, women to assist a lead teacher and/or substitute whenever needed.
Classroom Assistant Teacher
A degree in education, ESL or related field is preferred. Teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage, but not necessary. Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11.
Classroom Assistant
Female KU student majoring in education, teaching ESL or related field and can commit to volunteering Tuesday and Thursday mornings for the entire academic year.
Database Manager (not currently needed)
We are looking for a woman who is well organized and skilled with computers to maintain our database. Data entry experience and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets are required for this position. Applicant must be able to interact with international women. The volunteer is required to be at Small World Tuesdays & Thursdays while working on the database. Evening Social Hostesses
Small World needs American women willing to host a group of international women. This one time event is a beautiful opportunity to share our culture with women from around the world. Hostess decides the number of guests she can host. The hostess chooses the date. Evening socials are held Monday - Thursday 7-9pm.
No men or children may attend evening socials.
Library Assistant (not currently needed)
We need someone who is friendly and willing to volunteer on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Duties include: assisting our librarian with processing new books, shelving books and helping students to choose appropriate books for their English ability level. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our International students.
